“We really enjoyed our recent stay at the Treehouse. The thing we liked best was the privacy. Having a large property full of exotic trees and plants provided seclusion, even out on the deck. While you are in the center of things on Sanibel, it is a quiet center.

“We are a retired couple from Canada and we took a drive all the way down to southwest Florida to stay at the Sanibel Treehouse. It was a nice road-trip, long but not as arduous as it sounds especially when we know we are escaping the Canadian chilling winters back home.
Thanks for the great hospitality while we stayed at your Treehouse property on Sanibel. We certainly enjoyed the grapefruit picked from your tree. Also your location was central to both beaches and downtown stores and restaurants. The Hi-Definition TV in the living room has lots of channels, which was nice to watch in the evening. Your garden landscaping is lovely and believe that it will even look better when we return to rent again in 2009!
And we also used your outdoor grill a couple of times to make some beefsteaks and ate out on the sundeck. It was very enjoyable to have dinner surrounded by and overlooking the lush nature and foliage in your huge garden.
The newly installed washer and dryer works wonderfully and met our laundry needs completely!
We know Sanibel from past experiences as a super winter vacation area, and do appreciate all you did for us while we were there (e.g. loaning us your cell phone to call our daughters back in Canada to assure them we had arrived safely and were enjoying ourselves; stocking the freezer with Neopolitan ice-cream as a welcome gift). “Our favorite part about this Treehouse is the fact that it is surrounded by lush gardens, which makes for a very quiet, peaceful stay.
Previously we stayed at hotels, which can get very predictable and boring. This Treehouse is different from our previous vacation rentals also because the laundry facilities were a great bonus as well as having security-enabled Wire-less Internet access. The tree house is more romantic than staying in a hotel. There is a grocery store just up the road, and making a quick trip there and coming back to have a BBQ on the Treehouse deck is a real treat!
We like very much bike riding all over the island — baby in a chariot and off we go! We enjoyed the [Ding Darling] nature preserve very much — a very enjoyable bike ride –
The Treehouse may not be beachfront but seriously, think about it: Why should it matter to anyone? Some of the crappiest hotels/ rentals may be beachfront, but that is all they have and everything else is just mediocre if not awful.
At this Treehouse, it hardly mattered because the nearest beach was very conveniently located and just a short bike ride away… Everywhere else (supermarket, cafes, shops) is easy to access; since Sanibel is a very car-unfriendly place — we learned quickly to get everywhere either walking or on bicycles.
We were worried that you did not have a crib for our baby but we propped the pillows up around on the guest bed and it worked like a charm! Joshua had some to the best night sleeps here and so did his parents!
My husband and I both agreed that we would definitely like to return there some day.
I would highly recommend this place, especially if people are looking for a real retreat away from the hustle-and-bustle of the crowds! We would love to come back! The host is very sweet and helpful in orientating us around the island (i.e. recommending us where to have a nice lunch by the ocean, where to best rent our bikes, etc.)

“The reason we chose this property was the great location near the beach, that it has a treehouse deck and it is pet-friendly. We enjoyed the sundeck grill and love that the property is completely surrounded by trees so it gives us that exclusivity and privacy.
We were actually visiting family in Punta Gorda and decided to take off on a little trip to celebrate our third year anniversary. We heard of Sanibel, so decided to check it out. The place is amazing, and we are definitely going to tell our friends back home about this place. Would we reccomend this place to them? Hell, yeah!
And one thing we ought to say, which is the fact that the host actually welcomed us on the first day with fresh flowers (Lilies :-) for the treehouse. This is definitely the personal touch we don’t think we ever got anywhere else in other rentals.
Before we boked this place, we saw detailed pictures of it on this website and so we already had a certain level of expectation that despite it being a “treehouse”, it is quite a sophisticated , “boutique-y” kinda place. And it is … including the cut-edge technology. Wireless Apple Airport internet!
One thing we cannot get enough of is the ILLY coffee stocked at the Treehouse is real classy. If a rental does that for its tenants, you know for sure these are people who really care for their tenants. Definitely a cut above the other vacation-rental-by -owners we came across.
All in all, very impressed and totally psyched by our first venture out to Sanibel !

The house was absolutely fine and met all our needs. The Treehouse was located centrally on the island, which was nice. Closer to the beach would have been great, but wasn’t really a big deal for us.
The grill and patio area were great, although we didn’t utilize them during our stay (but they would have been great if we had a longer stay). We definitely appreciated the iLLy coffee for us! :) We liked the semi-seclusion, and the privacy/quiet of being located where it was.
It was nice to find a private rental that was more flexible. The price was good, and we were glad you could accommodate our short visit.
